Our standard
If US Local Now gets a fact wrong, we fix it in public. We do not hide a significant error by quietly rewriting the article and leaving readers with the old version in their head.
How to request a correction
Email contact@uslocalnow.com with:
- The full article URL
- The wording or number that is wrong
- What it should say
- A source we can verify (official statement, document, data page, or named report)
Please put “Correction” in the subject line. We may reply to ask a follow-up. A request is not a promise that we will change the story; we will change it when we can confirm the error.
What we correct
- Correction: a factual error (wrong name, title, date, score, total, location, or quote).
- Clarification: the facts were technically right but easy to misread. We rewrite the sentence so the meaning is plain.
- Update: the story was accurate at publish time and new information has arrived. We add the new facts and a dated note when the change is material.
Typos that do not change meaning may be fixed without a note. Errors that change meaning get a note.
How a correction appears
We edit the article body so the current version is accurate. For a material error we add a short note at the top or bottom, with the date, stating what was wrong and what we changed. We do not strike through the whole story or leave a false headline in Google or Discover previews if we can replace it.
If a story is too flawed to stand, we unpublish it and say so here rather than ghosting the URL.
