This privacy policy is for the website https://uslocalnow.com (“US Local Now”). It explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how to reach us. It is not legal advice.

What this site is
US Local Now is a news website. We do not require an account to read articles. Public comments on new posts are turned off. We do not sell a subscriber list.
Information we collect
If you email us. If you write to contact@uslocalnow.com, we receive whatever you include (your email address, name if you sign it, and the message). We use that to reply and to handle tips or corrections. We do not post your email on the site.
If you work on the site. Editors who log in to WordPress have accounts. Login and display cookies are set so the dashboard works. Those cookies are for staff, not for readers.
Server and security logs. Our host (Hostinger) and security/CDN tools may record technical data such as IP address, browser type, date and time, and the pages requested. That is used to run the site, block abuse, and diagnose outages. We do not use those logs to build a marketing profile of readers.
Cookies. The public site may set cookies that are strictly useful for performance and security (for example caching via LiteSpeed). We do not currently run a third-party advertising pixel or a comment-identity cookie for readers. If we add analytics or ads later, this page will be updated before that data is used for advertising.
Embedded content
Some articles may embed video, social posts, or other media from another website. That third party may set its own cookies and collect data as if you visited them directly. Their policies apply to that embed.
Who we share data with
We use service providers to operate the website, including Hostinger (hosting) and standard WordPress plugins such as caching and SEO tools. They process data only to provide those services. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect the site and its readers from fraud or abuse.
How long we keep it
Email about a correction or a tip is kept as long as needed to handle the request and to maintain an accurate corrections record. Server logs are kept according to our host’s normal rotation. Staff account data lasts as long as the account exists.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@uslocalnow.com. We may refuse a request when we must keep a record (for example a published correction, or a legal obligation). This site is aimed at readers in the United States.
Children
This site is a general news site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we start using ads, analytics, or newsletters in a way that collects more reader data, we will update this policy and the date below.
