Who we are
US Local Now is a digital news desk for readers in the United States. We report hometown and national stories that affect daily life: breaking news, local government, weather and disasters, sports, entertainment, and pocketbook issues such as gas prices, jobs, and consumer alerts.
The site is published at uslocalnow.com. Coverage is written for a USA local audience, not as a wire reprint or a gossip blog.
What we cover
We focus on stories people would tap in a news feed even if they were not searching for them:
- Local and state developments that travel nationally
- National politics and policy when they hit household costs, safety, or local services
- Sports and entertainment with a clear new fact (a score, a deal, a ruling, a date)
- Weather, infrastructure, and public-safety alerts
We do not publish medical advice, get-rich-quick content, or rumor presented as news.
How we work
Every article is original prose. We do not copy news-agency copy. Facts, figures, and quotes must come from named, checkable sources such as official statements, public records, on-the-record comments, or established newsrooms. If a claim cannot be verified, it stays out of the story or is labeled as unverified.
Headlines describe the article. Featured images are large, relevant photographs (at least 1,200 pixels wide, 16:9), not the site logo and not fake pictures of real people.
Software tools may be used to research, draft, or produce a story. They do not replace sourcing. We do not invent quotes, numbers, dates, or eyewitness detail.
